If you have recently completed a marathon and are now counting down the days to the next marathon than the following training tips are for you. There are a few things to keep in mind once you decide to run more than one marathon in a season. Now that it is warm out the season has begun and for those of us bitten by the multiple marathon bug, we just can’t get enough. The following are some tips to help you with training, recovery and nutrition to help you achieve your goal of multiple marathons.
 
Plan your races. Take a look at your calendar and go to www.runnersworld.com/cda/racefinder/ , or go to www.active.com (or RunnerSpace.com/RoadRacing) to locate the races that you want to run during the year. In order to plan an appropriate training schedule it is important to plan your racing schedule ahead of time. If you need some idea of how much time you should wait in between marathons Hal Higdon www.halhigdon.com/marathon/multiple/Multiplemara.htm has a great multiple marathon training programs from 2 weeks between marathons to 8 weeks.
